News has been slow to trickle in about the next Marvel movie, Spider-Man 4. The studio was ambiguous about the story and when we would see Peter Parker’s return after the devastating events that occurred in Spider-Man: No Way Home. But according to a new rumor, we might see the film sooner than expected.
According to the insider Daniele Richtmannthe script is still being written, but Marvel/Sony hope to release Spider-Man 4 before the next Avengers movie (still titled The Kang Dynasty for now, but that should change), and the story will lead directly to the events of that movie and Avengers: Secret Wars.
Plot details are still a mystery, but a previous rumor claimed that Sony Pictures would be eager to replicate some of them No way homeof box office glory by bringing back Toby Maguire and Andrew Garfield for Spidey’s next solo adventure.
We’ve also heard that Wilson Fisk/Kingpin will appear, but Vincent D’Onofrio is not believed to have entered negotiations.
No way home writers Chris McKenna AND Erik Sommers they are currently working on the script, but the story and possible villains are being kept under wraps. Most of Spidey’s major villains have already been used in previous films, but a recent rumor claims that the as-yet-untitled sequel will feature a villain we haven’t yet seen in live-action.
Tom Holland will return for the next film, but his run as Spider-Man is likely coming to an end, as he has previously stated that he can’t wait to step away from the role when the time comes. Although I wouldn’t be surprised to see him return for the next Avengers event films, so maybe see him out.
