Saturday night live alum Molly Shannon has been cast in a recurring role in the upcoming fourth season of the hit Hulu series Only murders in the building. While plot details for the season remain under wraps, it has been revealed that Shannon will play a powerful Los Angeles businesswoman who finds herself drawn into the world of investigations in New York.
Shannon is best known for starring in Saturday night live for six seasons from 1995 to 2001. Most recently, he starred alongside Florence Pugh and Morgan Freeman in Zack Braff’s 2023 film A good person and played Pat Dubek for three seasons The other two on Max (formerly Comedy Central). Among his credits there are also those of Showtime I love it for you and HBO The White Lotus and movies Other People, Promising Young Woman, Scary Movie 4, AND Scary movie 5.
Created by Steve Martin and John Hoffman, Only murders in the building follows Charles Haden-Savage (Martin), Oliver Putnam (Martino Corto) and Mabel Mora (Selena Gomez), three neighbors in a New York apartment building called Arconia, who come together to record a true crime podcast about the murders of their fellow citizens, for which they are continually being framed. Shannon joins a long list of recurring stars and A-list guest stars previously included Tina Fey, Jane Lynch, Meryl Steep AND Nathan Lane.
Only murders It’s a really great show, and it’s been a lot of fun to see who they bring in as guest stars each season. I can’t wait to see Shannon in this new role.
