Hawkgirl actress Isabela Merced shares her experience auditioning for SUPERMAN: LEGACY

We will see many actresses Isabela Mercede in some major genre projects in the coming years. We’ll see her soon Mrs. Web like Araña. It will then appear Alien: Romulus in an undeclared role. After that, she will appear on HBO The last of us Season 2 stars Dina, Ellie’s romantic interest. All this leads to appearing in James Gunn’S Superman: Legacy as Hawkgirl.

During a recent interview with THR, Merced talked about the audition process for Superman: Legacy and what it was like for her filming her audition with Gunn, saying:

“I was directed by [Gunn] during [screen] try for [Superman: Legacy], because I auditioned for it. I’m busy [the screen test] with my other castmates, and it was really cool. He seemed very professional; it was almost like a real day of filming.”

“So I’ve already learned so much about his process, and this man… he has the best of the best working for him and they’ve worked together for so long that it’s just up to me to screw it up.”

He went on to say that he’s working hard to give fans the amazing version of Hawkgirl they deserve, saying:

“I hope I can understand, take notes, continue training and stay healthy through all of this. Then I will be able to give the fans the performance they deserve.”

Merced is a talented young actress and I’m sure she will be fantastic in the role, especially with Gunn directing her. It will be interesting to see how Superman: Legacy sets up the character and whether Gunn has any future plans for her beyond this.

Superman: Legacy even stars David Corenswet as Clark Kent/Superman, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Nathan Fillion as Green Lantern, Edi Gathegi as Michael Holt/Mr. Terrific, Skyler Gisondo like Jimmy Olsen, and María Gabriela de Faría in the role of Angela Spica, aka The Engineer. Sara Sampaiothe Portuguese Victoria’s Secret model, was also cast as Eve Teschmacher, the assistant and sometimes lover of the scheming villain Lex Luthor.

Superman: Legacy will tell the story of “Superman’s journey to reconcile his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing as Clark Kent of Smallville, Kansas. He is the embodiment of truth, justice and the American way, guided by human kindness in a world that sees kindness as old-fashioned.”

Superman: Legacy will launch the cinematic portion of DC Studios’ Gods and Monsters: Part 1. The theatrical release is scheduled for July 11, 2025.
