While there is something new evil Dead film coming from the director Sébastien Vaniceksome fans are wondering if we’ll see a sequel Lee Croninit’s the movie Dead evil rises, which revived the franchise in a big way for theaters. The film was a huge success both critically and financially, so you’d think a sequel was inevitable.
The star of the film, Lily Sullivan, whose character Beth managed to survive the horrific ordeal, was recently asked about a possible sequel during an interview with CB, and she explained that there have been a lot of conversations about it. She explained:
“There have been many, many conversations, many alternative paths, many possibilities, which are all pretty amazing and fun and fantastic. And whatever ends up coming to fruition, I’m excited about it. But yeah, I can’t say anything about ‘Anyway, but yeah , excited. It all literally depends on the Evil Dead universe of gods. In a great way, until you cross the bridge, that’s just what it is. The blessings of this industry and the curse, you have to walk into the unknown.”
It sounds like something is brewing for a sequel, so that’s great to hear! We’ll just have to wait and see what the story will entail.
When previously teasing an idea for a sequel, Cronin said, “For me, really what’s been driving it is the idea that the force can’t really be destroyed. So even if there’s someone adjacent to all the madness that’s happened, that strength can prevail and can kind of keep moving forward. So, this is one path. There’s also a second storyline, a hundred years in the past, that’s shared in this. And also This is a plot I’ve been keeping on the boil for what’s going on behind that vinyl. You could go back in time. Then I’ve got a priest versus a hundred Deadites. ‘John Wick Evil Dead.'”
I would watch that movie at all costs and hope it takes the sequel in that direction! The vinyl record that comes with the Book of the Dead in the film offers an insight into the story of a priest from 100 years ago who finds himself fighting some of the dead.
Cronin went on to explain that he saw his work as opening up and expanding this universe, saying, “The challenge I was given was to move the dial with this world, to open it up in a different way. I hope I can do that “. “I was able to do that. I actually left some doors open to enter that world. There’s that envelopment and that envelopment is always there. I wanted to show the fans that I understand the world, I understand where it’s been.” , but here’s also the change, here’s the needle drop, here’s where we’re going. We’ll go somewhere else.”
As for other ideas for a sequel, such as continuing to follow Beth’s (Lily Sullivan) character after her blood-soaked ordeal, the director said, “There’s also the 10 Minutes Later story for those who. ..the lucky ones who maybe almost made it out alive. There’s that place too. And then, in the same way, how about when the authorities show up at this building and find the carnage that’s there? And if you remember , there are still some seriously hardcore remnants left in that building that could impact a whole new set of unsuspected factors.”
What would you like to see in the sequel? Dead evil rises?
