Adam Sandler announced that he is working on a new comedy special for Netflix and that he will reunite with his Uncut gems director, Josh Safdie, who is on board to direct. This is Sandler and the streamer’s second comedy special following 2018’s 100% freshdirected by Steven Brilli with contributions from Paul Thomas Andersonthe latter of which Sandler directed Drunk love.
Sandler’s long-standing deal with Netflix has also included several films: Leo, You are therefore not invited to my Bat Mitzvah, Feverish activity, Murder mystery, Murder Mystery 2, Hubie Halloween, Sandy Wexler, The Week Of, Doing too much AND The ridiculous 6. Additionally, he produced his Happy Madison production banner Father of the Year, The wrong Missy AND The outlaws.
Sandler’s career began with roles in the TV show The Cosby Show and a year later with his film debut in Going overboard, before entering the cabaret circuit where he was discovered Dennis Miller. Miller recommended Sandler to Saturday night live producer Lorne Michaelswho would become the comedian’s boss after Sandler took a job on the long-running NBC sketch series, including writer and performer.
After his firing from the show, his film career took off. To date, her feature films have grossed over $3 billion with titles such as Adults, Don’t mess with the Zohan, Billy Madison, Great dad AND The water boy.
Next, Sandler will release his own Netflix film Astronaut, which will have its world premiere at the Berlin Film Festival and stream on March 1. Keep an eye out for updates on the release date of the comedy special.
