Despicable ME 4 has some fun with artificial intelligence at the Super Bowl

Illumination has released a fun TV commercial for the Super Bowl Despicable Me 4. It’s called “Minion Intelligence” and has some fun with artificial intelligence as it reveals that Minions are the stupid brains behind the technology.

The new chapter focuses on Gru (Steve Carrell) and Lucia (Kristen Wiig) and their girls, Margo (Miranda Cosgrove), Edith (Dana Gaier) and Agnese (Madison Pollan)” as they welcome a new member to the Gru family, Gru Jr., who is intent on tormenting his father. Gru faces a new nemesis in Maxime Le Mal (Will Ferrell) and his femme fatale girlfriend Valentina (Sofia Vergara), and the family is forced to flee.”

The film also introduces new characters voiced by Joey King, Stefano ColbertAND Chloe Fineman.

The screenplay of the new film is written by Mike White (School of rock, The White Lotus) and franchising director Chris Renaud (The Secret Life of Pets 2) returns to lead the franchise after being away from it for a decade. He was the last to steer despicable Me 2and this time he shares the directing duties Patrick Delage in his directorial debut.

Despicable Me 4 will premiere in theaters on July 3, 2024.
