Prey director Dan Trachtenberg is developing another new one Predator movie. This project is described as a self-titled stand-alone film Badlandsthe director will write and direct the film and shooting will take place later this year.
Badlands is said to be a top priority for 20th Century Studios and sources say Trachtenberg and the producers are already meeting talent for the lead role.
I should probably clarify that this is not a sequel to Prey. That film is still in the works and the film’s star, Amber Midthunder, is expected to return, but no talent is officially attached to the sequel yet.
Story details for Badlands haven’t been revealed, but we know it will revolve around a menacing Predator on the hunt. It is believed that the new film will also be released in theaters, unlike Prey, which went straight to Hulu.
I’m excited to learn more about this Predator movie! It will be interesting to see what the setting will be and what kind of story will be told.
