Dave Filoni talks about the status of THE MANDALORIAN season 4 and THE MANDALORIAN AND GROGU movie

When it was announced Jon Favreau he would have directed a Star Wars film, The Mandalorian and Grogu fans wondered if this meant there wouldn’t be a fourth season of The Mandalorian. The fourth season was rumored to be reworked as a film, but this has not been confirmed.

Speaking with Entertainment tonight at the 51st Saturn Awards, Dave Filoni addressed regardless of whether or not it’s Jon Favreau’s The Mandalorian and Grogu movie means there won’t be a fourth season of the series, but he didn’t give any direct answers. He said:

“There is so much rotation in the galaxy right now. You know me better than to commit to anything. No mind tricks work on me. I’m excited about what we’re doing right now. I think it’s going to be great, obviously, with Jon at the helm. It will be great. He studied Star Wars very well, so he has great shorthand and I love collaborating with him. I’m just excited to share the future of what we’re doing.”

That’s what I’d like to see happen. It seems that there is still a long way to go to Filoni’s Star Wars film which will bring together all the stories of The New Republic saga. It’s clear from the title of Favreau’s film that it will place a heavy focus on Din Djarin and Grogu, meaning there’s room for The Mandalorian season 4’s story to focus on Bo Katan now that she’s taken on the role of ruler of Mandalore and leader of the Mandalorians now unified. But we’ll just have to wait and see what Lucasfilm has planned.

I just hope we can get both the movie and season 4!
