Dave Battista AND Samuel L. Jackson they will star together in another big action movie titled After the burn, which will be a post-apocalyptic adventure story set in the future. It looks like it will tell a fun and exciting story!
The film will be an adaptation of the Red 5 graphic novel series of the same name. In the story, “10 years after a solar flare wiped out technology across the world. Bautista will play ex-soldier Jake, who works as a treasure hunter recovering valuables from the old world for powerful clients. His latest mission is to team up with freedom fighter Drea to recover the Mona Lisa before a distraught warlord gets there first. Jackson will take on the role of a freedom fighter named Valentine.
The film is directed by JJ Perry (The assassin’s game) and produced by Toby Jaffe (Total recall), who said: “Afterburn is a fantastic action story, combining the fun of Indiana Jones with the near-future world-building of Children of Men. JJ will bring this to life in an exciting way, using real practical stunts to create authentic and visceral scenes. Dave is one of the biggest action stars in the world today, as well as being an actor with real soul and versatility. I’m so excited to make Afterburn with both of them.”
Producer John Friedberg added: “The combination of Dave Bautista and Sam Jackson in an epic adventure is a sure proposition for the international market. With an action master like JJ at the helm and incredible producers like Steve, Neal and Toby, this will be a spectacular cinematic event.”
