Mads Mikkelsen Offers Update on HANNIBAL Revival ‘It’s Going to Happen Sooner or Later’

Mads Mikkelsen offered another update on Hannibal revival that fans hope to see happen one day. He is the creator Bryan Fuller they’ve been talking about it for years and it’s something they haven’t given up on because they want to see it developed as much as the rest of us.

While speaking to Business Insider, he was asked about the revival and said, “It’s no secret that all of us who were part of the cast and Bryan, we all want to go back. Ultimately it has to happen sooner or later because we’re not getting any more young, right?”

The actor continued, saying that the series’ story can jump around to account for the amount of time that has passed, before saying, “It’s all about finding a home for it,” as he’s said before.

In a previous interview he explained that if they were to make a fourth season of Hannibal, he would like to immerse himself in the most iconic story of Hannibal Lecter, The Silence of the Lambswhich is where he was taking the series, so it would make sense to tell some sort of version of that story: “I don’t think it’s any secret that, if it were to happen, we’d love to delve into The Silence of the Lambs. That’s always been a problem because they didn’t have the rights to that book. But this is obviously the most famous part and we would like to get into it.”

A few years ago, Fuller offered an update on Hannibal’s return, saying, “Nobody’s given up! I’ve made it clear that I want to do it, the cast wants to do it and Martha wants to do it. We just need a network or streaming service that wants to do it. I don’t think there’s a clock or an expiration date on the idea. We just need someone to bite.

They need to find someone who wants to do this with them! It would be pretty crazy if they couldn’t find a network or streaming service to partner with.
