If you ever find yourself in a situation where you find yourself having a conversation with Christopher Walken and you’re wondering what to talk about with him, start the conversation by talking about your favorite donuts. According to his Duna: second part co-star Florence Pugh, Walken just wanted to talk about donuts between takes. He shared on Jimmy Kimmel Live:
“I spent most of my days with him and Charlotte Rampling AND Léa Seydoux, but above all him. And all of our stuff was so intense, so I stayed in a room with him for hours. … It’s surprisingly silly. Between takes he would tell me about his favorite type of donuts. [Laughs] And like, there was this sort of huge standoff between everyone, and then he’d turn to me and say, ‘What’s your favorite kind of donut?’ I thought, “Full of jam, of course.” And then we’d go do another take of a really serious scene.
Now, every time I see Christopher Walken Dune, I’ll just think about him wanting to talk about donuts. Pugh went on to say that he thinks the actor used to make donuts.
He, I think, made donuts. That’s why we were talking about donuts. …Unless it’s a big secret, but I think he made donuts.
As someone who loves donuts and is thinking about opening a donut shop one day, if I ever get the chance to interview Walken, all I want to do is have a conversation with him about donuts! Then I want to make a batch of donuts with him.
