Apple TV+ has been renewed Idris Elbait’s the aerial thriller Hijack for a second season. This is a series I haven’t had time to watch yet, but I hear it’s good and it’s on my list [It’s very good. —ed]. The first season of Hijack was actually one of the best dramas released on the streamer and landed in the top 10 of Nielsen Streaming Originals.
The series centers on a skilled business negotiator who is forced to use his cunning to save the lives of passengers aboard a hijacked plane bound for London. Elba acted alongside him Archie Panjabi, The crown‘S Ben Miles AND Max Beesley as Sam Nelson.
Jay Hunt, creative director for Europe at Apple TV+, said in a statement: “Global audiences were on the edge of their seats watching Idris’ riveting performance in Hijack, and we’re thrilled to be working with 60Forty and Idiotlamp again on a second equally compelling season”.
Elba added: “I was blown away by the overwhelming audience response after the first season. It’s top secret what new situation will open up for Sam Nelson, but I can assure you that we will bring back the high octane!.”

Season 2 of Hijack will be executive produced by Jamie Laurenson, Hakan Kousetta AND Tom Nash to 60Forty Films, along with the executive producers Kay AND Camp SmithIdiotlamp Productions production company. Camp Smith he also serves as the series’ primary director.
Hijack was created by George Kay (Lupine, criminal) AND Jim Field Smith (Criminal, Litvinenko).
