Marvel Comics and Lucasfilm have shared a preview and details for Star Wars: Mace Windu #1. The new comic series follows Samuel L. Jackson’s legendary Jedi in an adventure before the events of The Clone Wars.
The comic’s description reads: “Mace Windu has proven to be one of the most popular Jedi in Star Wars. From meeting Yoda in the Jedi Council, to defeating Jango Fett, to facing Darth Sidious, few guardians of peace and justice have left such a great impact. (He also teamed up, buddy cop style, with Jar Jar Binks in a memorable Star Wars: The Clone Wars whodunnit. Bombad.) Little is known about Mace’s younger years, however, and thanks to Marvel that will soon change.
Not only will the story be set before the Clone Wars, but also before Purple-Saber Windu was even a Jedi Master. In this first look, Mace arrives on the ocean moon of Devshi and is on the trail of some fugitive droids.
The next Star Wars comic series comes from Marco Bernardino AND George Jeanty. It is also scheduled for release sooner Star Wars: The Phantom Menace‘s 25th anniversary.
Mace Windu #1 arrives February 7th and is available for pre-order on ComiXology and at your local comic shop.
