Henry Cavill teases “big things” for his WARHAMMER 40K plans

Henry Cavill offered a brief preview for the highly anticipated Warhammer 40K live-action projects he is working on with Prime Video. They plan to develop a series of films and TV shows for the franchise by building a cinematic universe.

During an interview with Collider, Cavill was asked about the epic fantasy project and he said: “Warhammer it’s going very well. Great things are happening and we are very excited.”

It may be short, but these are Cavill’s first public comments on the project since Games Workshop confirmed that Amazon Studios had signed the deal to adapt the world of Warhammer 40K for the big and small screen.

As for the current status of these projects, Games Workshop had previously offered the following details: “All we can tell you at this time is that an elite group of writers, each with their own particular passion for Warhammer, are been assembled to help bring the setting and characters you love to the screen. This illustrious group will be supported by Henry Cavill, who is poised to take his place as executive producer, bringing his pen, sword and/or spear to the project.” .

They added: “TV and film production is a gigantic undertaking. It’s not unusual for projects to take two or three years from this point before anything hits the screen. However, things are progressing properly now and you can bet that we will bring you all the latest updates and interesting snippets as soon as we are able.

When the project was first announced, Cavill said: “I’ve loved Warhammer since I was a boy, making this moment really special for me. The opportunity to lead this cinematic universe since its inception is quite an honor and responsibility. I couldn’t be more grateful for all the hard work that Vertigo, Amazon and Games Workshop put in to make this happen. One step closer to realizing a lifelong dream.”

Cavill further added: “For 30 years I have dreamed of seeing a Warhammer universe in live action. Now, after 22 years of experience in this industry, I finally feel I have the skills and experience to lead a cinematic Warhammer universe in life.” .”

Warhammer 40,000 is a popular tabletop wargame and fictional universe created by Games Workshop. Set in a dystopian future of the 41st millennium, the game features a dark and dark sci-fi setting where humanity has spread across the galaxy, facing existential threats from alien species, demonic forces, and its own internal conflict. Players command armies of miniature figurines representing various factions, including powerful Space Marines, sinister forces of Chaos, ancient alien races, and more, in strategic battles for control of planets and resources.
