Lionsgate has released a fantastic first director’s trailer Guy Ritchieit’s the new action movie The Ungentlemanly War Officewhich is produced by Jerry Bruckheimer. The film is a World War II film and has an impressive cast. This movie will provide crazy entertainment and I’m excited to watch it!
Movie stars Henry Cavill, Eiza Gonzalez, Alan Ritchson (Quick X, Reacher), Henry Golding (Crazy rich Asians, the gentlemen), Enrico Zaga (Beyond the Universe), Alex Pettifer (Magic Mike, the butler), Cary Elwes (Saw, The Princess Bride), Hero Fiennes Tiffin (After franchising), Babs Olusanmokun (Dune, “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds) AND Up to Schweiger (Inglourious Basterds, Atomic Blonde).
The film is based on recently declassified British War Department files and inspired by true events and will “trace the secret World War II fighting organization of British Prime Minister Winston Churchill and James Bond scribe Ian Fleming. The techniques of unconventional and completely ‘ungentlemanly’ combat of the clandestine team against the Nazis contributed to changing the course of the war and partly gave birth to the modern Black Ops unit”.
The film tells the story of the first Special Forces organization formed during World War II by British Prime Minister Winston Churchill and a small group of military officers including author Ian Fleming. The top-secret combat unit, composed of a motley crew of scoundrels and mavericks, undertakes a daring mission against the Nazis using entirely unconventional and highly unladylike combat techniques. Ultimately their bold approach changed the course of the war and laid the foundations for the British SAS and modern Black Ops warfare.”
Cavill plays the leader of the secret combat organization. González will play a military sniper with extraordinary spy skills, and there will be “a bevy of colorful characters.” The film is said to have echoes of Quentin Tarantino Inglourious Basterdsand the hope is to build a great franchise out of it.
The film was written by Paolo Tamasy AND Eric Johnson, Arash Amel and Ritchie and is based on the best-selling book of the same name by war correspondent and military historian Damien Lewis.
