Tom Welling and Michael Rosenbaum discuss the possibility of a SMALLVILLE movie

Smallville It’s a really great series! I rewatched it last year and it was really fun to relive that epic superhero story and revisit these wonderful characters. WELL, Michael Rosenbaum (Lex Luthor) e Tom Welling (Superman) recently discussed whether they would ever be interested in reprising their roles for a feature film that would continue their story.

During Rosenbaum’s Inside of You podcast, Rosenbaum asked Welling if he would ever consider making a sequel film, saying:

“If they had an idea for a movie in Smallville or five years later or let’s say they say ‘We have this idea, it’s before you even become Superman and it’s this little window here, and it’s going to be on Netflix,’ you would consider it.

Welling responded, saying:

“I mean, I’d say ‘Yeah, let’s hear it.’ I don’t know how that could happen. I mean, listen, I was thinking about this the other day right before we did our Talk Ville podcast, we were on one of the most successful shows in television history like Top 50.

“Since that show, I have never received a call from anyone involved with the show for further work. I don’t mean to do it, I’m not saying I don’t feel guilty about it, I don’t push anyone about it. But you would think that when you become successful, you will continue to be successful with successful people. But I think times have changed.”

So, Welling simply doesn’t expect anyone involved in the show to contact him. It’s pretty crazy that these people who worked together for all those years and created a fantastic series, never got together to try to develop some kind of other show.

As for a Smallville movie, yes… it would be interesting to see what kind of idea could come out of it, but I seriously doubt it will ever happen.

Smallville ran on The CW from 2001 to 2011, airing 217 episodes over 10 seasons.
