Sony Pictures Reportedly Wants Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield Back for SPIDER-MAN 4

In the wake of the great success of Spider-Man: No Way Home, which brought together three generations of Spider-Man characters, fans eagerly await news on Marvel and Sony’s next Spider-Man adventure. Rumors are circulating once again, and this time, they suggest that Sony Pictures is looking to bring the original back to the big screen Spiderman Tobey Maguire AND The Extraordinary Spider-Man star Andrea Garfield for the highly anticipated Spider-Man 4.

In 2021, Spider-Man: No Way Home it shattered expectations and became a huge superhero hit. This epic crossover event saw Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield reprise their iconic roles together Tom HollandThe MCU version of the character. The film not only delighted fans but also grossed record numbers at the box office.

Given the monumental success of No way home, it’s no surprise that Sony Pictures wants to capitalize on this next chapter. According to insider Daniel Richtman, the studio wants Maguire and Garfield to join Holland Spider-Man 4. While the project is still in early development, the prospect of seeing all three Spider-Men back together is something many fans would be excited about.

Richtman also confirms rumors that Wilson Fisk, aka Kingpin, will appear in Spider-Man 4. However, that actor is worth noting Vincenzo D’Onofrio he has not yet entered into negotiations for his return.

These are just rumors for now, but they’re sure to spark conversation and excitement among fans. It’s funny because Sony Pictures can do a lot of interesting and exciting things with Maguire and Garfield’s versions of Spider-Man! I understand why they would want to bring them back for another great team, but I don’t think they should. It’s already been done, what they should do is make more independent films with these characters!

Think about it, they spent a lot of time and money creating a Mrs. Web movie that doesn’t look good and will most likely be a box office disappointment. But if they had made a Tobey Maguire or Andrew Garfield Spider-Man film instead, audiences would be much more interested and enthusiastic and the film would most likely be a huge success. Regardless, both Garfield and Maguire have previously expressed interest in returning.

Another interesting thing about this rumor is that there may be a clash of creative visions. Richtman also hints at a possible conflict of interest, with Kevin Feige wanting the film “to be more grounded, while Sony wants it to be huge.” In my opinion, the way forward is more well-founded.

I’m sure Marvel and Sony will figure things out, but with the way superhero movies are going right now, with superhero fatigue in full swing, they have to be really smart in how they approach it. Hopefully they make the right decisions.
