It was so beautiful to see Godzilla minus one I was nominated for an Oscar yesterday. There’s a lot of work that goes into that film and it ended up walking away with a nomination for Best Visual Effects. The film was made on a budget of $10 million and had a team of 35 people working on visual effects led by the director Takashi Yamazaki.
When the awards were announced, the creative team behind the film gathered to watch the nominations, and you can see their excited and emotional reaction to the nomination below. It’s really great to see how excited they are!
This is the first time ever that a Godzilla film has been nominated for an Oscar. I mean, we know he would never get any of the big nominations, but at least he got this one. I don’t know if it will win because it’s up against some pretty polished looking films, but I’d certainly like to see Godzilla minus one take home the prize!
