The VFX work in GODZILLA MINUS ONE was created with a team of just 35 artists

The more I learn about producing Godzilla minus one, the more I appreciate the film. We recently learned that the film was made on a budget of just $10 million, now a new report has surfaced regarding the film’s VFX team.

It was reported by THR that the film’s VFX team consisted of only 35 artists. These artists oversaw all 610 VFX shots in the film. The film’s director, Takashi Yamazaki, also oversaw the entire visual effects production process. He’s pretty impressive considering the number of visual effects artists credited at the end of these big budget Marvel and DC films, where the visual effects work suffered. Godzilla was also recently nominated for an Oscar for Best Visual Effects!

These big Hollywood studios could learn a few things from the creative team of Godzilla minus one. They could tell strong stories with great VFX work for a lot less money. But I guess the producers of those big movies have to fill their pockets with money.

I don’t know, I’ve always believed that there was a better, smarter way to make these kinds of great films that would lead to a better outcome than what we’re seeing, and the production of Godzilla minus one it’s proving all these things that I thought were possible.
