Behind the scenes photos from the biographical drama directed by Johnny Depp MODI starring Al Pacino

Some photos from the upcoming biographical drama have been released, Waysby the director Johnny Depp. This is his first gig behind the camera since the 1997 film, The braveas well as his first project since winning his 2022 court case against his ex-wife, Amber Heard. Al Pacino he is present in the film in a supporting role as the real-life French art collector Maurice Gangnat.

The film follows “the life of Italian artist Amedeo Modigliani in a whirlwind 48 hours, capturing a chaotic series of events across the streets and bars of war-torn Paris during the First World War. On the run from the police, Modi’s desire to end his career and he leaves the city is dismissed by fellow bohemians. The chaos reaches a crescendo when he is faced with a collector who could change his life.

Depp cited Pacino’s involvement as one of the main reasons he joined the project.

Depp said in a statement:

“Embarking on this cinematic journey as the director of ‘Modi’ has been an incredibly fulfilling and transformative experience. I would like to express my deep gratitude to the entire cast, crew and producers for their unwavering commitment and creativity. To Al, who asked me to make this film: How could I refuse Pacino? A sincere recognition for having generously contributed his talent and dedication to this project. “Modi” is a testament to the collaborative spirit of independent cinema and I am thrilled to present this unique and compelling story to the world.”

The cast also includes Riccardo Scamarcio, Antonia Desplat, Stephen Graham, Bruno Gouery, Ryan McParland, Luisa Ranieri and Sally Phillips. The film is produced by Depp’s European production company IN.2, with producer Barry Navidi.
