The first trailer for the upcoming video game was recently released Indiana Jones and the Golden Circle. It looks like that game will be a really fun adventure game and now we know who provides the voice of Indiana Jones: Troy Bakerwho played Joel The last of us.
I thought Jones’ voice in the trailer was really good, and now we know why. Baker does his best to channel Harrison Ford character representation in the game.
The game’s lead designer, Jerk Gustafssonspoke to EW about Baker and said, “He really brings that charm and sense of humor forward in such a good way. He’s also a huge Indiana Jones fan, which is great. So he’s very into the game as well. “
He added that Baker flew to MachineGames’ headquarters in Sweden at the start of the process to make all the motion capture performance material. “He’s not only a very good actor, but he also contributes a lot to improving the game. As we move forward with these, there are a lot of adjustments and changes, not only to the script itself, but also to how we set up the scenes, the way we set up the cameras. Troy is part of the development team a lot more than we usually see just because he’s in those blocking sessions.”
The game comes from the executive producer Todd Howardand the story takes place about a year after the events of Raiders of the Lost Ark and before The Last Crusade. Gustafsson says that “he separated from Marion. We know that since then he has been lost again. He is adrift.”
The film’s synopsis reads: Uncover one of history’s greatest mysteries in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, a first-person, single-player adventure set between the events of Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Last Crusade. The year is 1937, sinister forces are scouring the globe for the secret of an ancient power connected to the Great Circle, and only one person can stop them: Indiana Jones.
Talking about the significance of the Great Circle right from the title, Indy says in the trailer: “Throughout history humanity has built sites of great spiritual significance. If you were to draw a line through these sites around the world, you would get a perfectly aligned circle. “
Confirmed locations in the game include the Forgotten Temples of Sukhothai, the pyramids of Egypt, and the snow-capped peaks of the Himalayas. As for some of the other cast members:
Marios Gavrilis plays the game’s main villain, Emmerich Voss. “He’s looking for those great mysteries and those things that are unknown to the rest of the world. That’s a big part of what drives him. So when it comes to that obsession, they’re very similar. I think that’s the key element that makes him a very, very interesting antagonist for Indiana Jones.”
Another character is Gina Lombardi, voiced by Alessandra Mastronardi (The unbearable weight of a colossal talent), and is an investigative journalist. Gustafsson joked, “I don’t know how much I want to get into that right now. I would say she’s also kind of a resistance journalist, and that was also a big part of shaping this character to make sure that Gina has her goals. “
Gustafsson wants The Great Circle feeling like players are in the middle of a long lost 80’s Indy movie, which is pretty awesome! I love that they approached the game’s development with this lens.
