Neve Campbell says she would return to the SCREAM franchise for the right price

Neve Campbell he started in Hollywood in the early 1990s, landing a leading role in the show Feast of Fivelater becoming one of the iconic teenage characters in the first cult classic The joband then a very successful horror franchise He shouted. She was the plot star of the first five films, and although she was expected to return for the sixth film, it was revealed that she passed on the role after receiving a “disrespectful” offer from the studio. When she was asked a few months ago if the fan service was enough to bring her back to the franchise, she replied:

«It’s a difficult question because it’s also a question of principle. As much as I love the characters I’ve played and the ones I’ve had a history with, the concept of equal pay is also very important to me. I think we’re not there yet. I truly believe that if I were male, the offer would have been different. I can’t prove it, but it’s the feeling I have, and the way I was treated wasn’t great, and it feels disrespectful. So at what point does self-respect come into play? It always has to be there, right?”

And he spoke once again about the possibility of his return, telling IndieWire at this weekend’s BAFTA Tea event in Los Angeles that he feels bad for the franchise, as it has seen a lot of upheaval recently over the loss of two of its stars :

“It’s sad to me that they’re struggling right now. I imagine the people at the top are spinning around a bit, trying to make the right decision. I guess I guess people want to do the right thing. I hope so. I love this franchise. I love that about Wes [Craven]. I love it for all the people who were involved and also the newer cast. I hope it doesn’t fall apart.”

When asked if she would rejoin the franchise, Campbell said:

“Given the right circumstances? YES. I made a statement several years ago, and it was the reason I didn’t make the movie at the time, and I really felt the need to stand up and say I don’t think I would have been treated that way if I had been a man in franchising for 25 years, and that’s still true. So if they choose to come back to me, that will continue to be my lesson. We will see.”

Give her the money! Fans would return to the theater to see Sydney’s character on screen again. It would be the studio’s best bet on their next film, and keep Scream fans happy and coming back for more. She deserves to be paid for her work and I hope the studio is smart enough to make it happen.
