Netflix has released the first trailer for Guy RitchieNetflix’s next crime series The Lords. The series is based on Ritchie’s 2019 entertainment film of the same name, which he created and executive produced. He also directed the first two episodes and co-wrote the series Matteo Read. If you liked the movie, chances are you’ll enjoy what this series has to offer.
The show follows Eddie Horniman (Teo Giacomo), who unexpectedly inherits his father’s luxurious country estate, only to discover that it is part of a massive cannabis empire. Unfortunately for Eddie, a group of rather unsavory characters from the British criminal underworld want to take part in the operation. According to the official synopsis, “Eddie tries to play gangsters at their own game. However, when he gets sucked into the world of crime, he starts to get a taste for it.”
Ritchie previously said in a statement: “The world of The Gentlemen is a bit of me. We can’t wait to bring fans back to that world, introducing new characters and their stories, and I’m thrilled to do so with this cast extremely talented.”
The cast includes Kaya Scodelario (Crawl, the pale horse), Daniele Eng (I hate Suzie), Joely Richardson (Lady Chatterley’s lover), actor of Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels Vinnie Jones, Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad, better call Saul), Chanel Cresswell (This is England), Michele Vu, Max Beesley (Hijack), Jasmine Blackborow (Maria Antonietta), Harry Goodwin (In his hands: the emergency), Dar Salim (The deal), Pearce Quigley (Detectors), Ruby SearAND Pietro Serafinowicz (The mint).
