Actress Jenna Ortega is preparing to return to the set of the hit Netflix series Wednesdayand while he hasn’t shot any scenes for season two yet, he’s read some scripts and says we have a lot to look forward to.
On the red carpet at the 75th Emmy Awards, Ortega was asked about season two, and she teased the impression she got from the first scripts she read, saying:
“We’re definitely leaning towards a little more horror but it’s really, really exciting because throughout the show, even though Wednesday needs a little bit of an arc, she never really changes and that’s the wonderful thing about her . There are really, really good jokes, and I think everything is bigger, much more action-packed. Each episode will probably feel a little more like a movie, which is nice.”
That’s a lot of hype from the star! I hope she’s prepared for an even bigger season than the first, as everyone knows how difficult it was for her to make the first season.
The series comes from Smallville creators Al Gough AND Miles Millar and executive producer/director Tim Burton. So far there hasn’t been much information about where the series will go in season two.
Gough and Millar hinted that we might see more members of the Addams Family and further explore Wednesday’s relationship with his mother, Morticia. Ortega, who is becoming a producer for the second season, had previously indicated that the show would emphasize horror more than teen romance.
Wednesday Season 2 is expected to begin filming in April. The Addams Family Filming will be filmed in Ireland, moving production from Romania, where the first season was filmed from September 2021 to March 2022.
