Netflix has released a new trailer for Adam Sandlerthe next science fiction film Astronaut. The film is set in space and Sandler plays a lone astronaut on a research mission that takes him to the edge of the galaxy. During his mission he deals with marital problems and goes through some mental problems. While he finds himself in this troubled state, an alien spider creature shows up and appears to take him through a heavy and dramatic therapy session. Sounds like an interesting and awesome movie!
Sandler is joined in the film by Carey Mulligan, Paolo Dano, Kunal Nayyar, Lena OlinAND Isabella Rosselliniand the synopsis of the film reads:
“Six months after a solo research mission to the edge of the solar system, an astronaut, Jakub (Adam Sandler), realizes that the marriage he left behind may no longer be waiting for him when he returns to Earth. Desperate to make things right with his wife Lenka (Carey Mulligan), he is aided by a mysterious creature from the beginning of time that he finds hidden in the bowels of his ship. Hanuš (voiced by Paul Dano) works with Jakub to make sense of what went wrong before it’s too late.”
The film was directed by Johan Renck (Chernobyl) and was written by Colby Day. It is based on the 2017 novel Spaceman of Bohemia by Jaroslav Kalfař. Spaceman is the executive producer of Ben Ormand, Johan Renck AND Barry Bernardi. Manufacturers include Channing Tatum, Reid Carolina, Peter Kiernan, Michele Parets, Tim Headington, Lia Buman AND Max Silva.
The film will debut on the streamer on March 1, 2024.
