Jonathan Majors appeared to wipe away a tear in his first interview since being found guilty of assaulting and molesting his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari.
Speaking to ABC News Live about the trial in New York, the former Marvel actor said he was “shocked and scared” when his guilty verdict was announced.
He was convicted of negligent assault and intimidation, but acquitted of two other charges: third-degree intentional assault and second-degree aggravated intimidation.
Majors, who did not testify at the trial, told Linsey Davis he could not understand his conviction. He is awaiting sentencing on the February 6 misdemeanor charge.
“I stand there and the verdict is announced. I say: ‘How is that possible based on the evidence, the prosecution’s evidence, let alone our evidence?’ How is that possible?'” Majors said.
EXCLUSIVE: “It was very, very, very difficult and very difficult and confusing in many ways.”

Majors said he had “never hit a woman” but admitted his relationship with British dancer Jabbari was unhealthy after they met on set in 2017. Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. “I was merciless to her heart, not her body,” he told ABC News.
The Creed III star recalled what happened in March 2023 when he was involved in an altercation with Jabbari in a rented SUV in New York.
“She picked up the phone. I held the phone. I withdrew the phone. She sat on me, pushed my face and hit me. That’s all I remember,” he said.
Majors said he did not know how Jabbari’s injuries occurred, which included a broken finger and a cut behind her ear. ‘I wish I knew. That would provide clarity. It will give me some kind of peace,” he said.
The actor added: “I’m an athlete. I am an athlete. I know my body. I know how it moves. I know my strength or lack thereof, you know? None of this was applied to her.”
Jabbari’s attorney told ABC News that Majors “continues to accept no responsibility for his actions.”
In a statement, Brittany Henderson said, “His contempt for our jury system is no different from the above-the-law attitude he maintained throughout the trial… The timing of these new statements shows a clear lack of repent for the lawsuits,” and thereby he was found guilty and which should make the decision of the court quite easy.”
Majors, who is expected to avoid prison time, said he hopes to continue his career in Hollywood. “I’m praying for it,” Majors said of his return to acting. “But this is God’s plan and God’s timing.”
Majors played the mega-villain Kang the Conqueror in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He was fired from Disney last month.
