Adam Driver’s reaction to playing back-to-back Italians in House Of Gucci and Ferrari: “Who gives a**t?”

Adam Driver talks about his career and how he wasn’t strategic about his roles, but instead worked instinctively with great filmmakers.

The actor made an appearance in the SlimLess Podcast hosted by Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes and Will Arnett, discussing the topic of Italian men’s roles in two consecutive films. Chauffeur plays the role of Maurizio Gucci in Ridley Scotts House of Gucci and Enzo Ferrari in Michael Manns Ferrari.

Before the press travel for FerrariDriver was warned that he would inevitably be asked to play Italians in succession.

“So many people asked, ‘How many Italians…?’ I think it just worked out,” Driver said. “But I think it’s Ridley and Michael, and in my eyes they’re some of the best filmmakers. Who says it was two Italians in a row?

Driver cited booking roles in which he played Italian men as “a good example of him not being as strategic in his career as I probably should be.”

The actor said he was probably done playing Italians, adding: “I’m surprised at how much comes out of it.” It’s like, “You got something,” and I’m like, “There’s two of them!” These are two Italians!” There are only two. The press is not a place where you can have nuanced conversations.”

He continued: “It seems like a difficult idea to me.” For example: “What’s wrong with Italy?” I mean, it has less to do with Italy, even though I like it. It’s more about Ridley Scott and Michael Mann and the projects themselves. Italy is not the first thing that comes to mind.”

The manager previously went viral for his response to a reporter who discovered the report Ferrari The accident scenes were “cheesy”.

“Fuck you, I don’t know. Next question,” Driver told the reporter during a question-and-answer session.
