THE BATMAN: PART II would be inspired by BATMAN: EARTH ONE and the script was delivered before Christmas

Some new rumored details have emerged Matt Reeves’ plans for Batman: Part II. One of the most interesting things reported is that the film may be partially inspired by Geoff Johns’ Working on Batman: Earth One.

In a recent episode of The hot mic podcast, internal guest Giovanni Rocha shared that the film’s script was completed and delivered before Christmas. There have been a lot of rumors going around regarding the villains that will appear in the film, one of which is Hush.

Other villains who have been named include Scarecrow, Clayface and Professor Pyg. Co-CEO of DC Studios James Gunn they recently denied the reports by saying that only some of these rumors were “made up”.

In the podcast, Rocha said that he’s heard that “half” of the aforementioned characters will be introduced, with Jeff Sneider stating that Tommy Elliot, aka Hush, is actually part of the film.

Rocha went on to say that the story will be at least partially based on Geoff Johns’ short story. Batman: Earth One. The first film of which he took some inspiration from vol. 1, so I guess that means the sequel would be more influenced by volumes 2 and 3.

Batman: Earth One is set in an alternate universe where Bruce Wayne is a flawed and relatable character, struggling to find his purpose as the protector of Gotham City. With the help of Alfred Pennyworth, a former SAS agent, Bruce embarks on his journey to become Batman, facing both familiar and new villains along the way. The story delves into Batman’s psychology as he seeks justice in a gritty and realistic Gotham. Hush does not appear in the story, but later volumes include Clayface, Scarecrow, and a female version of Two-Face in Harvey Dent’s twin sister Jessica.

For now they are just rumors, but what we have heard may very well contain some truth.
