Neon has released a heartwarming new trailer for the writer and director Ava DuVernaythe film, Origin. It feels like it tells a heavy, emotional and powerful story. The film is “the unspoken system that shaped America and tells how lives today are defined by a hierarchy of human divisions.”
Origin is inspired by the life and work of Pulitzer Prize winner Isabel Wilkerson as she wrote her seminal book, “Caste: The Origin of Our Discontents.” In the film she “investigates the genesis of injustice and discovers a hidden truth that concerns us all.”
The film also features a strong cast of actors that includes Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor, Jon Bernthal, Grandson Nash-Betts, Vera Farmiga, Audra McDonald, Nick Offerman, Finn Wittrock, Jasmine Cephas-JonesAND Connie Nielsen.
Neon will make its debut Origin in theaters January 19, 2024.
