Charlie Hunnam says he almost played Anakin Skywalker in the STAR WAR prequel films

Charlie Hunnam (Sons of Anarchy, Pacific Rim, Rebel Moon) recently revealed that he was almost cast as Anakin Skywalker George Lucas’ Star Wars: Attack of the Clones. In the end the work was successful Hayden Christensenbut Hunnam shared his experience about auditioning for the role and says he even took a meeting with him George Lucas. During an interview with Entertainment Tonight, the actor stated:

“I forgot until you said it, but yes, I did. Years and years ago, I met George Lucas. I got to the point where I was meeting George Lucas, who… I don’t think you meet much of actors. I think they were considering maybe two, three actors. I don’t remember much about it. I remember I was nervous, and I was a little uncomfortable and I just remember walking out and thinking, ‘Well, I’m definitely not going to get that role.’ and I was right.”

Regardless of not landing the role of Anakin, Hunnam went on to have a successful acting career and has been involved in some big projects throughout his career. His career probably would have been better if he hadn’t gotten the part! It’s interesting to know that Hunnam was one of the best choices for Anakin. After all these years, he’s now starring in a movie inspired by Star Wars.

Do you think Hunnam would have made a good Anakin Skywalker?
