It’s safe to say James Wan AND Jason Momoa’S Aquaman the franchise will end with Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. Momoa has previously confirmed that this film will be “the end” of the DC film series, so his most recent comments about his future as Aquaman should come as no surprise.
Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, Momoa said he doesn’t want his time as Aquaman to end, but his future in this franchise “doesn’t look good.” She shared:
“I don’t necessarily want it to be the end. . . [but] I don’t think it’s really a choice. The truth is, if audiences love it, then there’s a chance. But right now, I’m like, ‘It doesn’t look so good.'”
Momoa went on to say that he loves the character and wants to continue playing him for a long time:
“I love this character and [I would want to] play it for a long time. I kind of see where I would like it to go. And even in the next 10 years or so, there will be a lot of interesting things that they can do. And I like the role and the world. So, I mean, it just depends on whether people love it.
I think it’s safe to say that this is the last time we’ll see Momoa as Aquaman. He has other things in the works at DC Studios like Lobo, and I think fans are a lot more excited about that than the other Aquaman movies.
