Marvel Hires MOON KNIGHT Writer to Film CAPTAIN AMERICA: BRAVE NEW WORLD

From Marvel Captain America: Brave New World is going back into production for some reshoots to fix some things that are obviously not working. In an attempt to help him, the story took over Knight of the Moon writer Matthew Horton write some additional scenes and other material for the film.

Captain America: Brave New World will return to production during the spring-summer of 2024 and there will be plenty of time to complete the film in time for its release scheduled for February 14, 2025.

Reshooting and retooling films after initial production wraps is nothing new for big tentpole films, especially with Marvel. They have always made major changes to the film and television projects they develop.

Anthony Mackie is back in the role of Sam Wilson, who is now Captain America, and is joined by him Harrison Ford as Thaddeus Ross, who in the story is the president of the United States. The film is also the protagonist Liv Tyler, Shira Haas, Tim Blake Nelson, Rosa Salazar, Danny RamirezAND Carl Lumbly.

Kevin Feige previously talked about the dynamic between the characters Wilson and Ross, saying, “There’s a dynamic between President Ross and Sam Wilson. They have a history together, but in this film we will see the dynamic between Captain America and the president of the United States in a way that is simply incredible.

Mackie had previously discussed the role of Captain America and how his character is different from Steve Rogers and the rest of the MCU superheroes. He explained:

“Sam is the only character without superpowers. He’s just a normal guy who hangs out with a bunch of weirdos. Being from New Orleans, I’ve been in a few fights. And heart and charisma have never helped me in a fight. usually he just got me beat up, so this could cause a problem when you go to fight someone like Thanos.

“So, I think he has to go on stage with a very different understanding of what it means to be a good guy or to be a bad guy and what are the decisions that make you toe that line the way you want it to.” So I see him more as a more humane Cap than a distinctive judge Cap — [a] Limit of judgment, where this is right and this is wrong. There are decisions that make you choose right or wrong.”

Giulio Onah (The Cloverfield Paradox) will direct the film from a screenplay written by Dalan Musson AND Malcolm Spellmanboth of whom they wrote for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Spellman will produce with Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige.

The film was also recently given a new release date, set for February 14, 2025.
