Cineworld has appointed Thomas Song as Chief Financial Officer, overseeing the group’s financial and accounting management and playing a leading role in the company’s strategic planning and analysis.
“After an extensive search, we are proud to announce Tom Song as our new Chief Financial Officer,” said Cineworld CEO Eduardo Acuna. He was appointed earlier this year when the global exhibitor filed for bankruptcy and the departure of previous owners and managers led by former boss Moody Greidinger. Since then, things have gotten pretty quiet in the company.
“Tom brings a track record and real insight into financial management, analysis and strategic planning to our team. With this background and our talented finance team, he is the perfect leader to execute a strategic financial vision that will drive the growth and success of Cineworld Group,” said Acuna.
Song was most recently CFO of global hotel management company Aimbridge Hospitality. He was previously CFO of the publicly traded restaurant company Dine Brands Global, where he led strategic and financial management. He was also a manager at Choice Hotels International.
The Cineworld Group operates the Regal, Cineworld, Picturehouse, Planet and Cinema City brands and is the largest global exhibitor after AMC.
