Some new details have emerged regarding the characters Margot Robbie AND Ryan Gosling will play in the next one Oceans 11 prequel film.
According to ShowBiz411, the film will be titled Oceansand Robbie and Gosling will play Danny (George Clooney) and Debbie’s (Sandra Bullock) mother and father in the story.
This seems to make sense since the film will be set in 1960s Europe and in the same universe as Steven Soderbergh’s The Ocean’s Franchise.
Executive producer Josey McNamara He previously offered a little update on the project, saying, “They’re wonderful together. It would be great to have more projects outside of this too. I can’t really say much, but I think we’re just trying to do the franchise right. I’m excited for people to experience it when it’s ready.”
The film will be directed by Jay Roachwho had previously directed Robbie in the film Bomb. She previously said: “There were some questions at first about whether it would be weird to have (Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling) back together after Barbie. But I think there are just a few pairings that you’ll want to see again and again. It’s such a powerful, powerful duo, you know? And it is and the suspense of the will that come together; will they trust each other enough to team up? It’s romantic.”
Roach also said of Robbie’s casting: “Margot pitched it to me as a sort of old-fashioned epic love adventure masquerading as a heist. It’s still a heist movie, but it’s above all a love story. And we were both inspired by Hitchcock, To catch a thief but also Known. It just wants to be a great, great, you know, cinematic spectacle.
The film’s screenplay was written by Carrie Solomon.
