I liked it Nicolas Cage as Ghost Rider! He was so funny in those first two Ghost Knight film, and brought tremendous energy to the role. While I don’t know if we’ll ever see Cage reprise his role as Johnny Blaze, I think fans would be thrilled to see him back in action as Ghost Rider.
The question is: Would Cage be interested in reprising the role again after all these years? And while the actor is considering retiring from making films, the answer is… yes! During a recent interview with Uproxx, Cage said that he will become “very strict and strict” about the types of film roles he takes on in the future, but then added:
“I’m not saying no completely. I’m saying that if something came along that I thought had some panache, some spark, that maybe would be fun for people to revisit, like Face/Off 2 or Ghost Rider, that would be another conversation.
So if Marvel came to him to play Ghost Rider again, he would actually consider doing it! They should consider it! This has been reported Kevin Feige wants to introduce Ghost Rider into the MCU and there was an attempt to make a Ghost Rider series on Hulu, but it fell apart.
You know, Marvel Studios could make it as a low-budget piecemeal movie, like the kind of movies Cage is making these days. They must not spend more than $150 million. They do it like a low budget indie type thing Ghost Knight Marvel films, making it gritty, hardcore and badass, and are guaranteed to make a profit.
Marvel needs to start thinking outside the box. What do you think of seeing Nic Cage back as Ghost Rider?
