THE BOYS showrunner Eric Kripke wants to make a series adaptation of Image Comics’ SAGA

The boys showrunner Eric Kripke started a campaign to obtain the rights Brian K. Vaughan AND Fiona Staples’ Image comic series Saga so that it can develop a series adaptation. If an adaptation of Saga ever happened, Kripke is definitely the right person to bring it to life.

He recently took to X to share a THR article, in which he tells them he’s “dying” to get his hands on Saga. He also shared the following comment with the post: “Mostly this is my desperate campaign to get Brian K. Vaughn and @fionastaples to give me the rights to #Saga. I’ll treat your baby right! @ImageComics.”

Saga is a fascinating, genre-defying space opera with a rich narrative. The story follows star-crossed lovers Alana and Marko, members of two warring extraterrestrial races, as they face the challenges of parenthood and attempt to escape the never-ending conflict that threatens their family. They are fleeing from authorities on both sides of a galactic war while struggling to care for their newborn daughter, Hazel. The series has received widespread critical acclaim for its originality, emotional depth, and seamless integration of fantasy elements into a complex character-driven narrative.

I think it’s only a matter of time before we see an adaptation of Sagaand after seeing what Kripke did Supernatural AND The boysI’d like to see him take on the challenge.

Vaughan has spoken before about how ambitious it would be to bring this story to life: “For now I still think, I flatter myself to think that Fiona and I are doing something that celebrates what only comics can do, which is purpose beyond Hollywood.” a blockbuster in terms of images, but also a challenging story for adults, like one would have in a long-form television drama. I think it is still very difficult, with what we are trying to say and do, for this to be achieved. in cinema and television. I’m not entirely against it. But for me that’s not the goal. I’d rather just keep my head down and keep making a great comic, then go out and chase a great adaptation.”

At this point, it’s just a waiting game for any of this to happen. You would like to see Saga adapted as a TV series? Do you think Kirpke is the right person to do this?
