Weta Workshop recently shared a 40-minute slideshow featuring a collection of the director’s stunning set photos Peter Jackson’S The Lord of the Rings trilogy. The video was released to celebrate The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the Kingit’s the 20th anniversary, which is crazy because it seems like just yesterday that I was waiting in line for the midnight screening of the opening night movie with my friends.
The stunning film brought an end to the Lord of the Rings trilogy that Jackson and the creative team had set out to make. These are three of my favorite films of all time and I have yet to see a film that captures the epicness these films convey. It’s really cool to get a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the film in these photos that we’ve never seen before.

20 years ago, we witnessed the thrilling conclusion to an epic story that audiences had eagerly followed in theaters around the world – a story we helped make for over seven life-changing years.
Despite one’s imagination, it is often difficult to fully imagine the future. Who could have imagined that a project that started in a few small warehouses would grow and evolve into such a magnificent saga, enjoyed by millions of fans around the world?
The result is a legacy of art and storytelling that continues to be appreciated and celebrated today. And, although we have expressed this sentiment many times in the past, it does not diminish its value: we are honored to have had the opportunity to contribute to such a beloved story.
To share our joy with fans around the world, enjoy this collection of fond memories of our days spent drawing, sculpting, exploring, painting, crafting, crafting, and, above all, dreaming in the vast world of Middle-earth.
