Season 6 of YELLOWSTONE would have introduced a long-lost Dutton brother

The original plans for Taylor Sheridan’S Yellowstone would have brought the series until at least the sixth season. The season was being written and Kevin Costner he confirmed those plans, which he was negotiating to return until everything fell apart. Now Costner is out and will not return to play John Dutton.

If the series had been allowed to continue, the story would have introduced a long-lost Dutton brother, and that character would have been played by the Christian rocker. Cory Asbury. He himself shared the news during an interview with Taste of Country, saying:

“I was supposed to be Kayce’s long-lost brother. We were going to move to Montana for a whole year. We were ready… Anna (his wife) gave me the OK and our kids were like, ‘OK, fine, we’re ‘I’m going to live in Montana.'”

He added:

“I was thrilled and so disappointed when it was cancelled. So disappointed.”

Yes, what a great opportunity to seize, and then to see it all fall apart is certainly a great shame. It’s really a shame that Paramount and Costner couldn’t work things out.

I know the story will continue with a spin-off series Matthew McConaughey will be the protagonist, but I wanted to see how the main story would unfold. That would have been the best story to tell. The next chapter is just kind of a band-aid for what they can’t do now. In any case, I hope it’s a great spin-off.
