Focus Features’ second film with filmmaker Robert EggersNosferatu, will be in theaters on Wednesday, December 25, 2024.
This is good news for the end of the year, when there is still little product. The only other broad entry on December 20, 2024 is Disney’s live-action sequel Mufasa and Paramounts Sonic the Hedgehog 3.
“Robert Eggers’ daring filmmaking is always a gift to fans, and we can promise that his Nosferatu promises a true Christmas,” said Peter Kujawski, president of Focus Features.
Screenplay and direction: Eggers, Nosferatu is a gothic tale about the obsession between a tormented young woman and the terrifying vampire who is in love with her, causing unspeakable horror. The film stars Bill Skarsgård, Nicholas Hoult, Lily-Rose Depp, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Emma Corrin, Ralph Ineson, Simon McBurney and Willem Dafoe.
Eggers produced with Chris Columbus and Eleanor Columbus (“Maiden Voyage”), Jeff Robinov and John Graham. Columbus was the EP on Eggers’ The witch And The lighthouse.
Focus has already co-financed and published Eggers’ Viking epic The Northman with New Regency, which grossed $70 million worldwide. Universal International takes care of sales abroad Nosferatu.
