Ray Stevenson he was fantastic as Baylan Skoll Star Wars: Ahsoka and the storyline created for the character was really beautiful and fascinating! Many fans have been wondering what Lucasfilm and the creative team will do with that story arc since Stevenson tragically passed away.
The Ahsoka series ended with Baylan Skoll standing on the statue of the Father, one of the Gods of Mortis, who represents the Balance in the Force. To the right of the statue is the figure of the Brother, who is the personification of the dark side. To the left appear to be the shattered remains of the Sister, who is the personification of the light side.
This was clearly a tease of where Skoll’s story is headed. Speaking about that visual, Filoni said in an interview with Vanity Fair:
“You have to be careful. I know it’s a very specific group of people who would even know what those statues are, but I thought it was an exciting image, and it gives you the shape of what Baylan is looking for.”
My theory is that Balyan is trying to free Abeloth the Chaosbringer. You can read my detailed theory about it here. When he talks about the character and what’s going on in his head, Filoni explains that Baylan feels “he should be the one making the decisions.” And he adds: “He is also very certain that what he is doing now is the right thing.”
As for how they’ll handle Baylan’s arc without Stevenson, Filoni isn’t entirely sure yet. He continued by saying:
“Obviously, there’s a story there. At this point we’re wait and see the pattern. But I’m happy that the conversation is about Ray and how great he was.”
While I’m curious to see how Filoni and Lucasfilm will handle things regarding Baylan Skoll, there’s no rush as fans continue to celebrate Stevenson’s life and career.
