It was recently shared by the CEO and president of HBO Casey Bloyswho always have scripts in development for the game of Thrones franchising. He said at the time: “We always have Game of Thrones scripts in development. We greenlit Dunk and Egg in the spring. I wouldn’t say there’s anything else in that world that’s close to the green light or anything like that, but we’re always working on different scripts and ideas.
Until now we didn’t know exactly how many game of Thrones spin-offs were actually in development. George R. R. Martin he wanted to make more Game of Thrones spin-offs and during an appearance at Festival Bang, revealed that he had eight more spin-offs in development. He said:
“On television, we have the new show, House of the Dragon, which just finished filming its second season, and we’re planning a third season soon. But I also have eight other spin-off shows that we’re developing. The Dunk and Egg show got the green light. The others not yet, but we’re still working on it.”
THE Schiacciata and egg the series is titled A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Knight ErrantSet a “century before the events of Game of Thrones,” two unlikely heroes roamed Westeros… a young, naive but brave knight, Ser Duncan the Tall, and his diminutive squire, Egg. Set in a time when the Targaryen line still holds the Iron Throne and the memory of the last dragon has not yet passed from living memory, great destinies, powerful foes and dangerous deeds await these unlikely and incomparable friends.
Martin did not confirm which of his other stories the other spin-offs would follow. But some of the previously mentioned projects include The sea serpent, Ten thousand ships, The golden empire, Flea background, Aegon the ConquerorAND To snowfollowing the story of Jon Snow after the events of the Game of Thrones finale.
With all these projects in development, it’s no surprise that Martin finished his Winter winds novel. I’ll be surprised if he ever finishes it.
