Full trailer for Clive Owen’s upcoming noir detective series, MONSIEUR SPADE

Today we have a full trailer to share with you for AMC Networks’ upcoming noir and mystery thriller series Mr. Spadewhat stars Clive Owen. Owen is a truly great actor and the type of character he plays in this series is perfect for him. I love a good crime novel and it looks like this one will deliver the goods.

The show is set in 1963 and the story centers on detective Sam Spade, who is enjoying retirement in the south of France until the murder of six nuns. The character was created by Dashiell Hammett, the same author who wrote the famous stories The Glass Key, The Thin Man, Red Harvest and The Maltese Falcon.

The series description reads: “The year is 1963 and legendary detective Sam Spade is enjoying retirement in the south of France. In contrast to his days as a private investigator in San Francisco, Spade’s life in Bozouls is peaceful and quiet. But the supposed return of his old adversary will change everything. Six beloved nuns were brutally murdered in the local convent. As the city mourns, secrets emerge and new leads are established. Spade discovers that the murders are somehow connected to a mysterious child believed to possess great powers.

Owen is joined in the series by Dear Bossom, Denis Menochet, Louise Bourgoin, Chiara Mastroianni, Rebecca RootAND Stanley Weberwith Matteo Barba AND Jonathan Zaccai.

Monsieur Spade is co-created, written and produced by Scott Frank (A Walk Among the Tombstones, Hoke, Godless, The Queen’s Gambit), who will also direct the episodes. They’re all pretty damn awesome projects, which means this one will be a winner too. It is also co-created and written by Tom Fontana.

Monsieur Spade will be released on AMC+ on January 14, 2024.
