The new directors hired to take over at Marvel Daredevil: Born Again, Justin Benson AND Aaron Moorhead, offered an update on how far along production is on the series. As you know, Marvel Studios didn’t like the way the series was going and during the writers’ strike they fired the creative team.
Dario Scardapanewho worked on Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan as well as Netflix’s Marvel show The Punisherhe was later hired as the series’ showrunner.
During an interview with The Wrap, Benson and Moorhead talked a bit about the new series and, after joking that they just found out they had an office to use, revealed that they’re now focused on studying all of the source material of Daredevil that they have available. Candies. Moorhead explained:
“It’s day zero. At the moment we are just consuming Daredevil content, not just the Netflix show but all the material possible. We’re just making our information set nice and dense.”
So, there’s still a long way to go before the new creative team starts reshaping what Daredevil: Born Again the series will be. I just hope they can reach the same level of awesomeness as the Netflix series, which sets the bar pretty high.
There have been some rumors regarding the story the series will tell, but with the show in the midst of a creative overhaul, that can all change.
Charlie Cox will return to the role of Matt Murdock aka Daredevil in the series, and will be joined by Vincenzo D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk/Kingpin, Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle/The Punisher, and Sandrine Holt as Vanessa Fisk. Also includes Michele Gandolfini, Margherita Levieva, Nikki M. James, Michele Gaston, Arty FroushanAND Clark Johnson in undeclared roles.
