Netflix’s Wednesday Season 2 is preparing for filming in April 2024 and will be moving production from Romania to Ireland for season 2. The first season of this series was really good and I hope the upcoming second season will be just as fun. .
The series tells the twisted coming-of-age comedy about “a detective, supernatural-infused mystery that traces Wednesday Addams’ years as a student at Nevermore Academy. Wednesday’s attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, thwart a monstrous killing spree that has terrorized the local town, and solve the supernatural mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago, all while navigating her new and very tangled relationships in Nevermore.
The show was created by Smallville creators Al Gough AND Miles Millarwith whom he did a great job developing the show Tim Burtonwho directed several episodes.
Jenna Ortega stars of the series, and she joined her Luis Guzmannwho plays Gomez Addams, and Catherine Zeta-Jones in the role of Morticia Addams, as well Gwendoline Christie, Cristina Ricci, Hunter Doohan, Percy Hynes White, Sunday of Joy, Emma Myers, Riki Lindhome, Jamie McShane, Georgie Farmer, Naomi Ogawa AND Moosa Mostafa.
Ortega previously offered some insight into the priorities he has for the next chapter of the story, and as the story continues, it will move towards the horror of the story. He explained: “We decided we wanted to focus a little more on the horror aspect of the show. Since it’s so lighthearted, and a show like this with vampires and werewolves and superpowers, you don’t want to take yourself too seriously.
He continued, “We had already thrown out so many ideas, and I’m a very practical person. I want to know what’s going on, and with a character like Wednesday, who is so beloved and a true legend, I really didn’t want to get her wrong. So I try to have as many conversations as possible. On the set, with the writers and Tim [Burton], we would all get together and decide, ‘Okay, what works and what doesn’t?’ Of course he was already very cooperative. So in preparation for a second season, we wanted to get ahead of the curve and make sure we could start the conversations earlier, and I’m so curious. I want to see the clothes, the new characters that are coming, the scripts and they were kind enough to let me put on the producer hat.
