Jeremy Renner recently shared an update on his health and recovery after the incredibly scary snowplow accident that left him with life-threatening injuries. He talks specifically about all the different types of therapies he has taken to help him on his path to recovery. He said on Instagram:
“I have been exploring EVERY type of therapy since January 14th. Every day, countless hours of physical therapy, peptide injections, IVs and injections, stem cells and exosomes, red light/IR therapy, hyperbaric chamber 2.0 atmospheres, cold immersion, and the list goes on and on.
He then goes on to highlight his greatest therapy by saying:
“BUT my greatest therapy has been my mind and the will to be here and push to recover and be better…. Be great…I feel like it’s my duty to do so. Not to waste my life when it was spared, but to give it back to my family, my friends and all of you who gave me the strength to resist. I thank you all”.
This guy went through a horrible experience and you know his journey since then has been incredibly hard and painful, but he’s damn near dealing with it all like a champ! It’s really amazing to see how far he’s come since the accident. In a previous interview Renner offered the following update:
“I just feel very blessed and very lucky to be righteous and to be walking around and living life. I’m very, very clear. My waist is really slim, if that makes sense. There is no more fat in my life. I don’t have time for that. So, there’s something really cool about having that superpower. I was really clear about how I want to spend my time and who I want to spend my time with. This to me feels like a family, a kind of lifestyle that we talk about all the time. And then we have the spirit itself, it’s more of a shared experience. And for me that’s where I want to spend my time.
“There are many gifts I have received because of this. When you are tested physically, emotionally, spiritually, in every way, and then you overcome it, it’s something that’s hard to explain. Perseverance. Force. It’s all a mind game. I put it in my back pocket now. I know how to deal with pain. It’s all a matter of the mind. It’s all in the mind. If you can sift through the fog of all this, I’m very lucky.
The accident occurred while Renner was shoveling snow in the driveway of his Lake Tahoe home on New Year’s Day. When he tried to stop the snow tractor from slipping and hitting his nephew, he was dragged under and crushed. The Hawkeye actor was airlifted to a hospital where he was treated for “blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries.”
It’s great to see Renner in good health and serves as an inspiration to many people.
