Sony Pictures and Nintendo are teaming up to develop the long-awaited live-action film adaptation of The Legend of Zelda. It was also announced Wes Ball will direct the film. He recently directed Kingdom of the Planet of the Apesand he did too The maze runner movie.
Fans have wanted to see a film adaptation of The Legend of Zelda for a long time and it’s finally happening! While this is interesting news and I’m curiously excited to see how the film turns out, I still would have loved to see Studio Ghibli develop an anime adaptation of the classic Nintendo title.
A live-action film has the potential to be a visually stunning and incredibly epic film! I hope the studio doesn’t waste the opportunity to make the amazing movie this franchise deserves. It would be a real shame if they dropped the ball on this one.
The Legend of Zelda follows the adventures of a young hero named Link, who is often tasked with saving Princess Zelda and fighting the evil villain Ganon. The series is praised for its compelling open-world exploration, intricate puzzles, and rich storytelling. After The Super Mario Bros. The film became a huge success, it was reported that Nintendo was looking to expand their film division. Making a Legend of Zelda movie was the next logical direction they would take. I just hope the creative team makes an amazing movie!
