Sideshow Collectibles reveals a new interpretation of Frankenstein’s monster with a new statue

Sideshow Collectibles has revealed a new take on the tragic horror icon Frankenstein’s Monster. The figure is based on the character created by Mary Shelley and I love what they did with the design.

Frankenstein’s Monster has been reinvented countless times over the years, but one of the most iconic designs is the one created for Boris Karloff in Universal’s classic 1931 film Frankenstein Monster. This new statute definitely does something different and unique with the creature.

Here is the description that was provided:

“All men hate the wretched; how therefore should I be hated, who am more miserable than all living beings!

Sideshow presents the Frankenstein Monster Statue, an original horror collectible inspired by the iconic literary figure and his visual legacy throughout the ages.

First brought to life by the words of Mary Shelley, the creation known as Frankenstein’s monster has taken many forms in popular culture. Sideshow’s new depiction honors the creature’s horror roots and tragic nature in a melancholic cemetery scene. Frankenstein’s monster staggers through the bitter cold, crossing a snow-dusted grave where a lantern, a shovel, and a broken skull rest. The epitaph of Elizabeth Lavenza, the future bride of Victor Frankenstein and victim of the monster’s revenge, is engraved on the tombstone.

The Frankenstein Monster statue measures 19 inches high x 12 inches wide x 11.7 inches deep and is fully sculpted to capture all the cadaverous details of the gigantic figure. Two large electrodes emerge from his back, covered in the skin of a skinned black bear. The patchwork pants mirror the monster’s construction and the silver stitches hold his reanimated flesh together on every surface of his body. It is painted with a mixture of rotten yellows and irritated reds, emphasizing how Frankenstein’s creation straddles the line between life and death.

The Frankenstein’s Monster statue is currently up for pre-order for $580 dollars, so if you want one and have the money to buy it… enjoy!
