Jason Statham (The Meg) has signed on to star in a new action film project titled Levon’s tradewhich is directed by David Ayer (Fury, Suicide Squad) from a screenplay written by Sylvester Stallone (Rocky, Rambo). This is a pretty fun team of talent coming together to make an action movie! This is actually the first screenplay Stallone has written since then Rambo: The Last Blood in 2019.

The film is based on the novel of the same name written by the comic book author Chuck Dixon. The book is the first of eleven in the thriller series. Stallone’s Balboa Productions previously developed the project as a TV series. Ayer and Statham worked together on the upcoming film Beekeeper, while Stallone worked with the actor on the Expendables franchise.

The film “will tell how Levon Cade (Statham) left his ‘profession’ behind to go ‘straight’ and work in construction. He wants to live a simple life and be a good father to his daughter. But when his boss’s teenage daughter, Jenny, disappears, he is called upon to once again employ the skills that made him a legendary figure in the shadowy world of covert operations. His hunt for the missing college student takes him into the heart of a sinister criminal conspiracy, creating a chain reaction that threatens his new way of life.

Producer Blocking of invoices said in a statement: “I am thrilled to reunite with some of my most talented and longtime partners on Levon’s Trade. I first worked with David Ayer on Fury and it was immediately clear that he is a director at the top of his game. Jason and I have worked together on numerous films and most recently all three of us collaborated on The Beekeeper. The Levon Trade will be another spectacular action film and I am confident that we have assembled the dream team to bring the first novel in this celebrated series to the big screen.”
