Loki Director of the first season Kate Herron has signed on to direct an episode of another beloved time travel series in the upcoming season of Doctor who! His writing partner Briony Redman will write the episode. The couple responded to getting the job done, with Herron stating:
“Clearly I can’t get enough of time travel. It’s an absolute honor to write for Russell and Ncuti. We had so much fun and we can’t wait for you all to see it.”
Herron and Redman’s collaborations include comics The storkthe short film “Smear” and the television project still in development Miss Universe. Redman added:
“As a huge fan of Doctor Who and Russell T Davies, it was a dream to write on this show.”
Doctor who also reunites Herron Ncuti Gatwa, who plays the new incarnation of the Doctor. Herron has directed Netflix episodes Sex educationthe series that gave Gatwa his breakout role.
Doctor who showrunner Russell T. Davies he said of the team:
“This is when I absolutely love my job. Working with the stellar talents of Kate and Briony makes my whole world bigger, brighter and so much more fun. I was a huge fan of Loki and reached out to Kate to tell her – she then introduced me to Briony and everything fell into place! They wrote a wonderful script that created unique challenges for both cast and crew. The end result is wonderful, exciting and scary, and not like any other episode of Doctor Who.”
Doctor who Season 14 also returns Jemma Redgrave as Kate Stewart. Bonnie Langford it’s going back to how it was before Doctor who Comrade Mel Bush. Doctor who will return Nov. 17 with three 60th anniversary specials starring David Tennant like the Fourteenth Doctor. Catherine Tate also returns as beloved companion Donna Noble.
Ncuti Gatwa will appear in the 60th anniversary specials, but his first full episode as the Fifteenth Doctor will be the 2023 Christmas Special. Doctor who Season 14, which finished filming in July, will follow in 2024. Doctor who Production on season 15 began Monday.
