Some new details have emerged regarding the second season of the Marvel animated series What if…? regarding the story that will focus on Hela.
Cate Blanchett she’s set to reprise her role as Hela for the series, and that involves the villain acquiring a powerful new weapon. The episode in which she appears is titled “What If…Hela Finds the Ten Rings?”, which are obviously the ten rings from Marvel’s Shang-Chi martial arts film.
As for how Hela’s story will play out, insider CWGST offered some insight into the matter, saying that Hela will be “banished from Asgard like in Thor: Ragnarök.” But instead of being imprisoned in Hel, she finds herself accepted by Ta-Lo. and their inhabitants, learning their martial arts. Odin will invade and war will break out between Asgard and Ta-Lo. Hela’s armor will be all white instead of black and green.
It actually sounds like it’s going to be a good story and I’m curious to see how it ends. It’s just a really interesting mashup of worlds and characters, which is why I’ve always liked these Marvel What If…? stories, and it seems that the second season of the animated series will give us some good ones!

The synopsis was also previously published for What If… Kahhori Reshape the World? and we read: “What if…? asks what would happen if the Tesseract fell to Earth and landed in the sovereign Haudenosaunee Confederacy before the colonization of America. The Tesseract takes on a new life and a new mythology, transforming a lake into a gateway to the stars and guiding Kahhori, a young Mohawk woman, on a quest to discover her power.”
I’ve already seen some footage from the next season of What If…? and I’m excited for what’s to come!
